In an effort to increase student’s awareness surrounding proper etiquette and dining, the Women’s Resource Center at Washington State University, in conjunction with Kohl’s Department Stores put on a very successful evening. The “Training for Success” etiquette dinner was open to both males & females and featured a panel of successful Kohl’s executives to share their career path and personal stories. Alex Abraham – Campus Ambassador
Bella Claros – Campus Ambassador
Rachael Pratt – Campus Ambassador
In addition to receiving advice on proper etiquette, the students were also given tips and tricks on how to be successful at career fairs and job interviews. A few topics that were discussed were preparation, research, being proactive and practicing their “elevator speech.” As a close to the evening, students were also given examples of what is acceptable and not acceptable attire for professional events. Each student was also given an informational packet on career opportunities at Kohl’s.
Overall, it was a very fun and informative event for all those involved and we look to continue the success in future events, Go Cougs!
