The Career Connections department within the College of Business at the University of Nevada-Reno hosted an event entitled the “Competitive Edge Event.” It was held prior to the campus wide career fair to help students be better prepared for that event. Among the many stations that were offered was a “Dress for Success” booth where Store Manager Heidi Creek was there to show all students how to make a strong first impression. They discussed the do’s and don’ts of attending a career fair & first interviews as well as what to do after landing their first job. Heidi also showed numerous students how to tie a tie so they were able to make an even stronger impression at the career fair.
The event served as a great way for Kohl’s to interact with strong student leaders at UN-Reno and also gave those students some “real life” advice from industry professionals. The event also served as a networking opportunity for those students who will soon be joining the workforce!
