Kohl’s Presents in Cal State Fullerton Classrooms

On Thursday, September 29th, representatives from Kohl’s were on the Cal State Fullerton campus to present to Junior and Senior level students. The presentations were focused on the Retail Industry as well as Human Resources/Talent Management. Kohl's Representatives in attendance included Shane Knoy, District Manager, and Thomas Romero, University Relations Coordinator.

The students had a chance to get real life examples from industry professionals as well as ask any questions that might help in their career search. The “Retailing 101” presentation was delivered in conjunction with Buckle. Both companies discussed their efforts to gain and increase customer loyalty in the stores. It was a great opportunity for the student’s to understand the different approaches that take place in the retail industry.

The HR/Talent Management presentation was delivered to Senior level students and gave a glimpse into the world of HR as well as how the company assesses its talent. The students had an opportunity to test their skills during a “Celebrity Talent” activity that had them evaluate the potential of a few celebrities.

Both presentations were designed to assist the students in making the connection from their classroom studies to real world applications. All students were also encouraged to participate in the upcoming Professional Leadership Conference hosted on their campus.
