Dress for Success Fashion Show at Arizona State University

Kohl’s Department Stores in collaboration with the Career Services team from Arizona State University’s Downtown Campus hosted the inaugural “Dress for Success Fashion Show.” The event was geared towards undergraduate students in an effort to educate them on professional attire and development in the workplace. The event also offered a “How to tie a tie” station as well as informational tables for numerous student organizations. Among the representatives for Kohl’s were:

Mark Grudecki – Regional Vice President
Deb Kuczora – District Manager
Brooke Allen – Store Manager
Jenni Appleyard – Store Manager
Erick Martinez – Store Manager
Barb Mutolo – Store Manager
Kelsey Achtzehn – Assistant Store Manager
Paul Padilla – Assistant Store Manager
Thomas Romero – University Relations Coordinator

Mark kicked off the evening with a few inspirational words on how he achieved his level of success within the business world. By offering his insight into the topic of first impressions, he left the students with good information on how to set themselves apart from the competition. The fashion show portion was emceed by Jenni & Thomas, who provided descriptions for both male and female student models that were wearing Kohl’s outfits. Each model showed off both “business professional” and “business casual” looks for the audience to gain a better understanding of what is expected in today’s workplace. The event was concluded with a question & answer session where the students were able to gain perspective from the Kohl’s representatives. In addition to the career services office, the following clubs and organizations were also involved in putting on the very successful event:
