University of South Carolina "Follow the Leaders: From College to Career" Student Leader Breakfast

The University of South Carolina Career Center hosted an inaugural student leader breakfast where Phillip Daniels, Kohl's District Manager in Columbia, SC, was invited to kick off with a keynote address. The event was developed to connect students and employers to discuss how the student's leadership experiences translate into future employment, allow employers an opportunity to share with student leaders the desirable qualities for entry-level workers, and to provide a networking experience for students. Presidents and Vice Presidents of USC Student Organizations were invited to attend this breakfast. Phillip's impactful keynote highlighted an industry perspective on how student leadership experiences propel employees into leadership positions and Kohl's culture around leadership and core values.

The breakfast and keynote was concluded with table discussions on traits and skills that employers listed as most important to them in new hires in a survey done by Dr. Phil Gardner with Michigan State University.
